Suicide Risk in Bipolar Disorder: A Brief Review

Bipolar disorder (BD) is associated with a significantly elevated suicide rate, estimated at 10–30 times higher than the general population. Approximately 20% of untreated BD patients die by suicide, and 20–60% attempt it during their lifetime.
