How We Research
GetMotivated.ai is a platform for behavior change across work, learning, health, life, and personal development. Our content spans evidence-based science, practitioner expertise, established frameworks, and diverse perspectives. Here is how we approach sourcing and citing everything we publish.
What we source
We draw from a range of sources depending on what the topic warrants. Where peer-reviewed research exists, we prioritize it. Where the best available knowledge comes from practitioners, authors, or established frameworks, we use those. Cal Newport on deep work, the Pomodoro Technique, an expert perspective on meditation — these are valid sources, and we treat them as such. The commitment is not to peer review alone; it is to sourcing everything and being transparent about where it comes from.
How we cite
Every article links to its sources in the Sources section at the bottom of each post. We include authors, publication or origin, and year where available. If a source is publicly accessible, we link directly to it. If it is behind a paywall or in a book, we link to the abstract, publisher page, or closest available reference. The goal is for readers to trace everything back to its origin.
Our editorial approach
Articles are written and reviewed for accuracy, appropriate use of sources, and honest representation of what is known and what is not. When evidence is mixed or a topic is contested, we say so. When a piece is opinion or perspective rather than a research synthesis, we frame it that way. We do not flatten nuance to make a stronger claim than the sources support.
Updates
We review and update articles when new research or better information becomes available. Each article shows its most recent review date. If you spot something outdated or a broken source link, contact us and we will look into it.
