Mindfulness-Based Intervention Effects on Substance Use and Relapse Among Women in Residential Treatment: A Randomized Controlled Trial With 8.5-Month Follow-Up Period From the Moment-by-Moment in Women’s Recovery Project
Hortensia AmaroDavid S Black
This randomized controlled trial evaluated Moment-by-Moment in Women’s Recovery, a mindfulness program for ethnically diverse women in residential addiction treatment. Compared to an active control, participants showed significantly delayed marijuana use and fewer days of use over an 8.5-month follow-up. Higher session attendance also correlated with reduced alcohol intoxication.
