Laura MasiPascale AbadieCatherine HerbaMutsuko EmondMarie-Pier GingrasLeila Ben Amor
Cross-sectional study comparing video-game use patterns in children with and without ADHD (ages 4-12). Children with ADHD had significantly higher video-game addiction scores and longer playtime than non-ADHD peers; impulsivity was the ADHD symptom most strongly correlated with problematic gaming, and total screen time alone did not predict symptom severity. Highlights that games' immediate feedback, clear goals, and novelty make them potent hyperfocus triggers for ADHD brains.
