Validation of the dispositional adult hyperfocus questionnaire (AHQ-D)

Validation study (n=347 adults, mean age 33) of the 12-item dispositional Adult Hyperfocus Questionnaire (AHQ-D). Exploratory factor analysis found high loadings (0.57-0.81) on a single hyperfocus factor; item response theory showed high item discrimination; internal consistency was strong (Cronbach's alpha 0.93, split-half reliability 0.93). Gives researchers and clinicians a psychometrically validated way to measure hyperfocus as a trait.
